Freeze Aloe Vera in Ice for Soothing, Cooling Sunburn Relief [Clever Uses]

Freeze Aloe Vera in Ice for Soothing, Cooling Sunburn Relief It may be winter here in the northern hemisphere, but that doesn't protect you from the sun, and our friends down under are dealing with lots of sun and high temperatures. Regardless of the weather, Real Simple suggests freezing some aloe vera in an ice cube tray for sunburn relief that's not only soothing thanks to the aloe, but cooling thanks to the chilly cold of the ice.

You'll have to make sure you get actual aloe vera to freeze in this case?aloe does have some water content, but many aloe applications are really moisturizing lotions that may not freeze very well. Your best bet in this case is to hit the all-natural section of the grocery store or your local health food store. Once you have some, you can either mix it with water, or pour a good amount into each section of the ice cube tray, and toss it in the freezer overnight. The next time you go out into the sun, whether you're shoveling snow or hitting the beach, and forget your sunblock, you'll have a soothing home remedy to apply to your burn when you get back inside.

This probably isn't much easier than carrying a bottle of aloe lotion with you in any temperature, but it is a different take on soothing the savage sunburn. Silly idea or DIY genius? Whatever you think, let's hear it in the comments below.
