With hoards of people looking to replace or supplement their income with online methods, it has become clear that the internet provides a viable solution for many. A vital first step is to conduct comprehensive keyword research.
Ideally, you want your best keyword to appear in the actual URL. For example, if you determine that your keywords are small dog toys, then your URL should reflect that phrase in the URL. The purpose of your website is to be found in the search engines, preferably on the first page.

By servicing a smaller group of customers, you can better meet their needs.
Remember that search engine rankings are a work-in-progress. It can take six months or more to get listed on the first page. The URL is important, but it is not the only way to increase your position. There are many other methods you will need to implement as well, such as blogging, article writing and advertising.
Knowing how to create a business website is a great first step. You then have to print that URL on all of your advertising materials. Brochures, cards, social media sites and flyers will aid in increasing your rankings and get you to the top 10. An online venture is not much different than an offline one; it takes self-discipline, consistence, persistence and research.
